This year’s conference was particularly special for us, as RCS proudly took part as a joint Gold Sponsor alongside the Bristol Centre for Supercomputing (BriCS), representing the combined UK AI Research Resource (AIRR). Sponsoring at this level gave us the opportunity not only to support the UK’s vibrant research software engineering community, but also to highlight the exciting developments happening across AIRR.

As part of our sponsorship, we were honoured to deliver a Gold Sponsor talk introducing AIRR and its role in strengthening the UK’s AI research ecosystem. We also ran a hands-on workshop showcasing our cutting-edge Dawn AI system, giving delegates a chance to see how it can accelerate and enable research in new ways. The feedback and engagement we received were fantastic, and it was inspiring to see the enthusiasm around these new capabilities.

Several of our brilliant RCS colleagues also took to the stage to share their expertise, including Marion Weinzierl and Joe Wallwork.

We’re proud to have such a talented team representing RCS, and their contributions were a highlight of the programme.

Of course, no conference update would be complete without mentioning our new Dawn lion mascots. They were a hit with delegates, sparking plenty of conversations throughout the event.

RSECon25 was a brilliant opportunity to connect with peers, share knowledge, and celebrate the growing impact of research software engineering. We’re already looking forward to next year—and in the meantime, we’ll be building on everything we learned and the new connections we made.
